Convenient Conspiracy 1993
Rick sez: This album was a train wreck before it started. We wanted to bring in a real drummer (all previous albums featured keyboard percussion only). We had tried to work with several drummers. There was an entire album written called "Sick Nipple" which was never recorded due to problems with said drummer. For CC we were able to get Ryan Lafield to learn a number of tracks. This didn't happen.
We were only able to record about three songs with Ryan. Some good came of this however, because we spontaneously wrote a few tunes with Pierre on keyboard drums that are Nispy favorites. These include "Talking to the Stapler" and "Disturbal". These are obviously Nirvana inspired and remakes appear on later albums. The interludes are better, but my singing is far, far worse. I apologize to everyone for that, I have trouble with notes.
There are a few "gems" like "Shoveling Cheese" and there's the first appearance of the full-song version of "Just Don't Eat Bacon". The interludes are probably the best part of this album. "Toilet Fishing" is excellent.
