Rick sez: A few years after the band went its separate ways, Pierre and I started effing around and decided to record a bunch of remakes. We wanted to go back and sort of do a retake on the best qualities of our songs and record them with halfway decent equipment.
There were also a few originals, "Apathy" being the one I'm remembering now. It was a fond farewell tune, appropriate since the whole album was a tribute to what we were and could have been in another dimension made of delicious pie.
Pierre was better at every instrument than any member of the band ever was (Yosh on bass excluded) and is playing all of them on this album. I was still doing guitar where appropriate.
"Underwear On My Head" is done in the style of the keyboard-only version we first wrote before Nispy, when we were calling ourselves "The Digital Banana Children." It's more energetic and completely unapologetic. The "Just Don't Eat Bacon Dance Remix" is also here in full form and though rarely heard even by the most avid Nispy fan, a real Nispy classic. "F.U.B.A.R." was another one of our favorites and for better or worse, redone on this album. The interludes are top notch, with "The Manager" and "Toilet Fishing" getting well deserved follow ups.
The sound quality is further improved as our equipment and Pierre got better.
